Rashida Jones' really loves the 90s and it shows in the video for her new single "Flip and Rewind" features multiple fashion references that legit photographs from the era must have been copied exactly.
"As every person approaching adulthood does, we romanticize and idealize the time when we had less responsibilities...and the '90s was kind of a dope place," Rashida told Rolling Stone, calling the clothes "comfortable, bright. We took all of the quintessential R&B videos from the '90s and did our best to recreate them."
"We just finished filming and were fully decked out in '90s gear: dark lipstick, bandanas, door-knocker bamboo earrings, jerseys, Star Trek cell phones. We were pulling into the lot, and two real guys pulled up next to us and were like, 'Hey, what's up? What's your name?' And Kidada [Jones, my sister] goes, 'Oh, no, no, no. This isn't real life. We're in the '90s.'"
